Hello all,
I am pleased to join the experience however, I am nervous as to my lateness. I am afraid that so much has transpired, and that I have missed the train. However, I do not believe that I have seen a GateKeeper1 yet. I have checked around the forums and the timeline to no avail, so maybe there is still time. I am currently working on cracking the first two entry points that I have been presented, the Letter to Aspirants and the Newsletter. (Trying not to say too much, just in case) If anyone has any tips, I am open to suggestions, as I am feeling confused and possibly overwhelmed with the amount of material to take on.Lift the Veil &

Welcome,
I should warn you that Tension is broken up into several segments. The segment that the forums were primarily focused on, with our Gatekeeper stories, odd phone calls, and secret meetings was named Indoctrination and ended recently. We are currently in the Ascension phase, which is the ticketed event in LA.
If you’d like to review the events of Indoctrination, the Timeline is a succinct overview, the New Aspirants forums contains many beginner tips or overviews, and the My Haunt Life podcast has our very own @mike and @reaton recounting their experiences in great detail as they happened.
Gatekeeper One is a… confusing topic. The “unveiling” came about in the form of a Periscope posted to their Facebook. When you feel reasonably comfortable that you know what the story so far is, I’d encourage you to watch it.

Tension has so far been in two phases:
1. Indoctrination – This was the heavily online component that featured dead drops and in person events in the LA area and phone calls, puzzles and media to be decrypted that wasn’t bound by location. Indoctrination officially ended when Ascension started in early September, but has recently been making a bit of a resurgence with the Overseer vs Samson conflict.
2. Ascension – This was the ticketed in-person event in LA. It is currently still running until at least mid November. If you are in the area you can still attend this and in fact I think we would all recommend you do so.
There is talk of later in-person phases including Lust, and Adrenaline and we’ve had fan theories about whether there will be Indoctrination-like online phases to join them.
In short, Ascension is still going strong right now and Indoctrination still has some activity, although the current focus is on Ascension

Much of Indoctrination is over, but none of us can say for sure if that means that it is officially completely over or if another phase like it won’t take its place after Ascension.
Suffice it to say that it would be best to focus on your Ascension for now. We’ll be here when you return with the questions that it raises. Many people that return have been answered by OOA members in ways that are very reminiscent of Indoctrination methods and styles.

That’s not the fun part. The fun part is the immersion. Ascension is effectively an application of it.
Edit: I guess I should say that everything else is the fluffer to the main event. Without the fluff… it’s just a two hour experience. Not unique.

It is unique. I’ve been involved since April. However, my daughter wasn’t. She enjoyed Ascension a lot. And, it was a unique experience for her. She would tell you it is nothing like a regular haunt and is very immersive. No one could explain it to you without giving you spoilers. But, maybe I’m wrong, it seems like you’re going in expecting to not enjoy it. If you go in like that, you most likely won’t. If you’re going in expecting it to be a haunt chances are you’ll be disappointed

I’m sure you didn’t mean to make assumptions about me and my motives. I whole-heartedly expect to be astonished tonight.

I apologize. It seems my message didn’t come across the way I had intended. I suppose that’s what I get for typing quickly while in line at Target.
There were no assumptions made. I was replying to what you said. I’m apologize if I offended you. That was quite the opposite of my intention. I was trying to point out that it is immersive and it isn’t a haunt. I honestly have no idea what your motives are so I’m confused as to what you mean by that. I was hoping to point out that it is an incredible experience like few others have done as well.

Sorry, my candor doesn’t reflect to it’s potential when observed via text. Haha. Sorry for the confusion. No ill will or bent spirits here. I am very excited for tonight.

@hazelcloud: Welcome to the forum and best of luck at Ascension. I look forward to hearing your thoughts once you’ve returned. If you see the shouty British man named Simon please say hello for me. That man just adores me with his whole heart. On a more serious note, if you find @masterlock (The Overseer), and if she would allow it, please consider giving her a warm hug and telling her many of us are thinking of her.
