The puzzles are only a component, don’t focus too hard on them. The goal is to uncover the teachings of the OOA, to gain their recognition, and either take decisive steps towards or against Enlightenment.
For now, the best thing that you can do is try to go through what has happened from a storyline perspective. Some of that is available at top level comments in threads. Others on Facebook, Periscope, or the articles many have written on it.
Then, just speak with people. Help us theorize, even if you don’t have the full picture. Joining your voice to ours is the surest way to get recognized, and recognition is the true gateway to the Tension Experience

I received an email today, from our dear @ooaguide, that I feel that many of us may benefit from. I was going over it just recently, and I think my analysis into the redacted text is going to take a short break. Text is as follows:
Do not focus on the redacted print, it is of no consequence and will only lead you in the wrong direction. It was blacked so you would focus on that which did matter.
Consider this a friendly hint to redirect your attention where it matters.
Watching,

Well first of all, welcome @crelegant!
Getting started is a little daunting. @atticus360 just today posted a topic found here that may help give you a brief run down on what’s happening so far.
The first steps are going to be to catch up to where we are. Most of that can be done through either the topic I linked, or by going through the forums to see what we’ve been talking. The truth of who and what the OOA is and what they want with us is something that we’re only just beginning to understand, though, so don’t expect too many solid answers.
The most obvious puzzle is going to be found on the main page. Click the bottom “button”, and it’ll take you to a puzzle involving letters and amulets. It’ll lead you to a video that gives some interesting insight as to what awaits us.
A large portion of Tension is going to come when the Institute recognizes you, and that’s going to be done one of three ways. The first is by helping us decipher clues to their truth. Hints will pop up every day or so on social media, through a call placed to someone, a letter found in a park hinted at through a video on Periscope, and whoever finds it is normally good enough to post it on here for analysis. Joining in on the conversation and talking about it, even if you’re new, is a great way to get involved and more importantly, noticed.
The second way is to help the community itself. Any conversation on the forums can do this, but helping out newbies, helping people plan, that sort of thing is a great way to get noticed. The third way is to spread the message. That’s an option that I’d recommend you reserve for when you’re a bit more caught up, but once you are, spreading the word of the OOA to others is a simple and easy way to get recognized.
The short of it is: Just talk to us. You can see what people are posting in near real time by clicking the triple lines, clicking the down arrow next to forums, then clicking activity. Joining in on those conversations, even if you just want to ask what’s going on, is an easy way to get started.

Merged in from @mkarrett‘s previous beginner’s topic, so that this is all kept in one place:
Dear New Initiates:
Welcome to The Tension Experience! Don’t know where to start? Have you done the following:
1.) Filled out your questionnaire? While the questionnaire is lengthy it is vital in your next step. You can save and return to the questionnaire if you run short on time.
2.) Explored the forum? Don’t be too intimidated by the wealth of stuff that has been posted, read what you can and if you’re really lost we highly recommend @mike and @reaton My Haunt Life “Where to Begin” thread and also going to the reddit page but be warned there are spoilers so don’t go to Reddit until you think you’re ready.
3.) There are puzzles that are scattered throughout the Facebook Page and Website including the Forum! If you feel like the puzzles don’t really lead to any conclusion, hang in there, you’re not alone. Remember this experience goes all the way to the Fall so HAVE PATIENCE.
4.) Get active! Think of creative ways to spread the word of the OOA.
5.) Most of all, get to know your community. While everyone will have their own Path and thus have a different experience compared to others, we are here to support each other in our personal growth here.Pro tips:
-You can search for members, simply use this link
-You can also just look the most recent activity on the forum by going here
-There’s a search bar, it’s here!In Light,
TheGilded and Mkarrett

My work was done separately, based off only the scans. See below for my interpretations of it, which are far less comprehensive.

@mkarrett – possibly, but we may be able to accomplish the same thing with a weekly sticky post in Misc or New Aspirants forums. Forum restructuring is a bigger endeavor and may not be needed.

A summary post would be an excellent idea. If someone wanted to do such a thing, @mkarrett and I can work out a way to keep it stickied and updated/regularly replaced.
However, in order for this to show up as an alert for them you’ll need to tag them with their user names instead of their “friendly” names. You can find them by clicking their names, and the names @irishalliwell120 and @halfbloodfangirl are found at the top of their profile, under their picture

Calling them puzzles may be a bit of a misnomer, as the only conventional puzzle that exists is the one on the front page. The “puzzles” that we are given aren’t straightforward at all, they are hunting through information given for hidden or obscured meanings. What we gather from pictures, videos, and events are normally only fragments: a stray number, a repeated phrase, someone acting a bit unusual… which are puzzle pieces to a bigger puzzle that we barely grasp in the first place.
Look not at individual pieces for a “solution” to a video or a picture or anything, look at each of them as giving you a piece that takes you another step closer to the puzzle that is The Tension Experience as a whole

I respect your question, but won’t continue focusing on the topic.
Analyze more if you will, but keep in mind both OOA_GUIDE’s final sentence and valediction.

@addisonborn – Replies are wonky for me, too. I believe once a thread hits a certain size, things start breaking and I believe we hit that size a while ago

I Love Bees was ’04, and was huge. It was big enough to put ARG’s into more of the public light and inspired a number of others. The earliest that I’m seeing was Dreadnot, starting back in ’96.
I can’t speak towards haunts, but there’s been a medium for Tension to exist in for a couple decades now.

Huh, TIL.
I’d post a gif of someone famous, possibly heroic, giving their approval right now, but where would I find such a thing…

(Right click the image in imgur, select “Copy Image Address” and then post that. Posting to the imgur page itself doesn’t work so good)

To be fair, we only know that the OOA is currently in LA, but their reach may be larger than that. For all we know, they have hundreds or thousands of members in every city.
