I was pulled aside by the man who was dancing too and he took me into the room in the back. He didn’t tell me any jokes though. He got really close to me and asked me if I “knew what this really was.” I said I didn’t. He asked me if I trusted him, and I said sure. Then he told me that he wanted me to lie–that everything that I said at the event had to be a lie. I asked him what to do if there were people who knew me at the event who would know I was lying. He said to just keep lying anyway and said “this is your purpose here today.”

I was kind of terrible at it (Exhibit A: my go-to lie of choice: “I’m a GREAT liar…wink wink…”).

The man came back to the table I was sitting at later to check on me and asked how things were going. I jokingly said “horribly.” He laughed, then pulled me aside again and asked me why things were going “horribly”–and I told him I didn’t know if I was supposed to lie to him too or tell him the truth (there were a lot of confused “no–yes?–no”s from me here… :p). He said that was up to me to decide whether or not to lie to him. Then he gave me a lot of compliments and said I was doing a great job.

And everything else is basically the ceremony/fight as the others experienced it.

Oh, and after reading a bit about the jokes he was telling people at the event, this is maybe kind of interesting: It’s probably just him building his character, but his compliments to me were pretty flirtatious and he said at one point, “If I were a younger man, I would fall in love. But I’m older and that would be inappropriate.” Just stood out to me after @TheGuilded said his joke involved a 16-year-old…just a thought.

I got a call last week inviting me to Sunday’s event too–and just now saw the e-mail about it. Is this an OOA mixer? :p I also saw that @mike is going to be a guest speaker!

Sounds like it was a great night! Sad I couldn’t make it last week. I’ve actually *never* been to The Magic Castle. Kudos to you for organizing, @puppetgirl! Hopefully I can make it to something else in the future!

Lots of stuff about hearing…”But do you hear what we’re saying?” and that one frame that looked kind of like a clipped ad that said “write to us for better hearing.” And I noticed GK4 (presumably?) drew an ear on the news letter with the hangman on it too. But that may be me over-analyzing that imagery… :p It just seemed like more ear-stuff than usual lately?

I’m loving all the “Glory be!” and other Tension comments appearing on the YouTube video’s page. :p I keep picturing the poor, confused med student who’s going to have to try to make sense of those…

Also, did anyone experience anything that seemed to have come from their questionnaire or other information that was accessed by the O.O.A.? I think I was asked something at one point that reflected my questionnaire answers–but it didn’t even click that that’s where it came from until today!
