This is all so insanely interesting. When I went through, Addison introduced herself to me. After a few minutes, one of the handlers arrived and said “Addison, it’s been five minutes” and Addison dismissed her. The handler persisted, but Addison ignored her. Then Addison went blank, seemed to have reset, and then looked up and me bright eyed and smiling saying “Hi, I’m Addison, what’s your name”, despite repeating those same lines nearly 5 minutes prior. The handlers looked shocked and quickly escorted her away, asking me not to speak of this to the Elders.
I love the idea of different timelines, or a singular experience all happening at a single point in time–all at once. I greatly look forward to my second experience so I can peek behind the veil and learn more of the inner workings of the OOA. The more I learn, the more I want to ask Addison and the others the thousands of questions rattling in my head. Friday cannot come soon enough.

Hazel, I can promise this is very different from any other haunted house. The amount of personal interaction and immersion that is experienced in Ascension is unparalleled. I love immersive theater and I was blown away by the acting, the interactions, and the set design.
If you want backstory, the forums are littered with theories, discussions, and stories. But as Sean stated, you can attend Ascension knowing nothing of the backstory and still fully enjoy it.

As a clear pragmatist, I completely agree that the end justifies the means. A lot of weight is put on your shoulders to do the choosing, but picking someone strong, brave, and willing to sacrifice himself to the greater good is the ideal candidate. You definitely made the right choice, and your daughter would hopefully understand and be proud that her dad became (or died trying to become) the new oracle.
I put my greatest fear on the question is to die not being able to better the world around me, not being able to live up to my potential. I would gladly give up my life to become the next oracle. It would be an honor.
My question to you: why does the ceremony fail each time? why is someone who is picked so carefully unable to become the oracle? Have oracles been chosen this way before? Has something changed?

Does anyone know the significance of all of the handlers having names that start with “S”?
I interacted with Susan and Sadie during my time and have read of Shannon and Samantha.

Sean, this is a really interesting viewpoint. I like how you are thinking about it. People grow, people change, people transition. And as this occurs, we often try to resist this change. Where is the person I fell in love with? Where is the old you? But that’s not fair. People change for a reason, and we can only hope that this change is an improvement for them and that they are happier because of it. We can try as hard as we want, but we can never change anyone. We can’t force anyone to change. We can only give them our feelings and our thoughts and let them make the decision on their own.
Addison knows how each and every one of us feels. She listens to us, I can see that. But assuming that this is her choice, we don’t have a say in this. As you have said, we can only support her.

This is so wonderful! After so many failures, we have a success!! I am glad that you were there to witness it, Julie.
I will return next weekend and hope to see this new oracle with my own eyes. I will ask what the plan is moving forward and how I can help!

Exactly. I just became active and received a call! Samson banned three members. I am having a blast!
Thanks, Max!

Thank you sir. It definitely seems like identity and names are providing some framework of symbolism to these experiences. All of the girls dressing the same, having the same roles, and having “S” names all references “sameness” to me. That’s the link that I come across–but I didn’t know if it went deeper.
And as for the girls themselves. The first girl I met, I asked her name, and she told me it was Susan (she was the dark eyes, very scared, bobbed dark hair with bangs). Next I met Sadie and she introduced herself. I met a few others but did not catch their names. But Susan and Sadie’s names OOG are not the same as their IG counterparts.

Thank you for the warm welcome. Safe travels and I am so glad that you are able to come out and experience Ascension. I’m sure they will make your show one that will stick with you for a long long time after it is done. Sorry, I was unable to contribute to your trip! But if I can make it out on Sunday, I will buy you a drink!
And as a button pusher as well, I welcome you to engage Ellis. I could only dream of being a fly on the wall for that interaction. Let me know how it goes. And good luck!

Hi Blondie,
Pleasure to meet you! Why so interested to encounter Ellis? and during my time in Ascension, it was impossible NOT to meet him!

Hi Dan,
She did not! I read that in your other post though. I’m glad you were able to witness her carving your likeness into the furniture as well.
I first met Sadie in processing room when she came to me. The processor told her that I had not finished, but Sadie insisted this was the Overseer’s orders. So I was brought to her. For sake of spoilers, I will not reveal here (but can elsewhere if asked) what Addison told me. But Sadie kept close to my side, leading me from Addison to a waiting room to the elders then back to Addison. She also informed me that they were all forced to sleep in the same room. And Ellis was very violent with her and she was scared of him. I offered to help protect her and it seemed to make her happy. But I wasn’t able to stay with her very long after that. I still worry what has become of her. I hope she is still safe when I return.

Larry, thank you for the thoughtful follow up to my posts. I have really valued and respected the ability of people to bond together as a community over a given task. I have seen this at work, in experiences, and again in here. It is wonderful how warm and accepting everyone has been, especially to newcomers and those seeking answers. Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses, and together, we can leverage each other’s strengths and see different sides of the same story. I find that to be incredibly powerful and thought-provoking. As I read through these forums, I am constantly thinking outside of my own box of comfort and considering viewpoints that I would have not thought of on my own. And for that, I love this community very much.

I empathize with you, Dan. Sadie spoke to me and told me of some of the atrocities that were occurring in that compound and it made me really want to protect her. I spoke with her and Susan mostly, and am curious as to our interactions on my second visit. It is so hard to leave somewhere where you see something bad happening and all you want to do is help..

I always learned that you cannot control what other’s actions are, how they feel, or how they view you. All you can control is your own behaviors and actions. If there is someone you care for, that you want to protect, then it is important to communicate that to them and ask how you can help. But ultimately, it is up to them to reach out and tell you exactly how you can help.

Do you remember what name he called himself by in Ascension? I am concerned by the call I received in which they said that he was not with them. I do not trust Samson, and am so happy to see such a warm and inviting community band together to stand against someone who wishes to silence those respected members among us.
