You may be right, @sadako. But the reporter in me doesn’t like to think that our visit was staged for unstated reasons.

I have no intention of leaving The OOA Institute again without getting to the bottom of this story.

@mumumusings: That was me in the live stream, and after reflecting on my second trip to the Institute I do think there may have been an ulterior motive involved.

My visit was scheduled through the normal channels you’d go to for this kind of thing, but about 10 minutes before my appointment I received an unexpected call. It was The Overseer, telling me that if anybody tried to stop the broadcast, I should let them know that she herself had said it was okay.

I wondered at the time why such a request would even be necessary; if the visit was authorized, wouldn’t the staff and other members be made aware of such unusual circumstances in advance? But time and time again, everyone I encountered seemed caught completely off guard — and as you saw, eventually we were shut down.

Why did The Overseer want cameras inside the Institute? Whose authority was she trying to circumvent? Why were we eventually shut down, and have their been internal repercussions since?

I don’t have answers to these questions, but they’ll be weighing on my mind until I return for processing next weekend.

Hmmm… I feel like I’ve solved the eye chart puzzle, but I’m not getting the kind of “result” that it sounds like others did.

@electrichippo, can you (or anyone else) confirm that this puzzle is still operational? Would prefer to solve it on my own if at all possible — I love a good challenge! — but trying to make sure I’m not running afoul of some kind of technical issue.

That’s about as vague as I could keep it. Thanks in advance to anyone that has a moment to respond. :-)

Welcome, @starryari1990! As somebody that’s pretty new myself, I can tell you that there’s a wealth of information to be had both here in these forums and on the official Indoctrination timeline itself. (I’ve been reading for days, and I’m still going.)

Longstanding members of the community will no doubt chime in shortly as well. It’s about as welcoming and encouraging a group as you could hope to find online. (Well, except for some of the Gatekeepers, but that’s a different story.) :-)

@shinobi (and others still waiting for Ascencion): It looks like The OOA will be reaching out directly for those of us that bought several tickets. I emailed them about this and just heard back:

“We will be in touch for all of that!

    In Light,

    OOA”

Hi @shinobi – I have a similar situation for a group of tickets I purchased for myself and friends. Any chance you could PM me and let me know how you ended up solving the problem?

    Thank you!

Hello to you both, and thank you!

Every thread I read through on the forums leaves me thinking that much more about my time in The OOA Institute. The people I met without realizing it, the strange things I witnessed that grow clearer and clearer, and – as we keep hearing about more and more “cowards” – what may now be happening inside its walls…

    @djkpro: Hello, and welcome!

There appears to be something amiss in the eye puzzle, but all is not lost. Shooting you a PM with a suggestion…

@kasch: Interesting. When The Overseer allowed me to bring a camera inside the Institute, The Briefcase Man introduced himself under a different name. It’s a bit muffled on the recording, but in the room it sounded like he said his name was Stephen Cassiday (sp?).

Potential SPOILER ALERT for those that haven’t already met him, but the introduction happens around 16:45 into the recording.

Does anyone else hear the same / does that name have further significance to anyone?

Thirded, @mike. This show being successful and running as long as it can is good for the city. And when we make second (or third, or fourth) trips, we should be spreading the word, bringing those unfamiliar with Tension or immersive theater along for the ride. #thecultisreal

But yeah, November would be an awesome start.

@nerdyredhead @dimstyle Confirmed – it is broken, but the eventual pay-off is not. NerdyRedHead, if you think you’ve got it figured out feel free to PM me and I can point you in the right direction, assuming somebody else hasn’t already. :-)

Would love that @coryphella – and yes, I’ve chatted with Noah about this a bit. :-) Shooting you a PM.

I had a similar reaction @puppetgirl. I hadn’t been involved with Indoctrination like everyone here, and so I went in pretty cold. As a result, there were several things I didn’t pick up on, and I didn’t really have a handle on how much I could or couldn’t do — or might even be expected to do. (An example of the agency question that Megan points out rearing its head.) Because of that combination, I also felt like I was on rails for sections of the experience (and I have a feeling we may be talking about the same couple of scenes). However, at the end of my night I had one scene in particular that really helped me transcend that mindset — and got to me emotionally in a very, very real way. I have not been able to get that particular moment out of my head, and it’s had me thinking about the show ever since I left.

After hearing what kind of experiences the other people in my group had (all very different from mine), and combing through the archives here, I’ve realized there were definitely different things I could have done, and characters I could have interacted with that I simply didn’t realize were “special” characters in the moment. That’s part of the reason I’m excited to go back again (looking forward to the 22nd!), to see what other paths are possible inside the walls of the OOA — and what new moments have been added since I last visited.
