@atticus360 I haven’t kept up with the forum much this month because of life, and honestly I didn’t read this entire chain even because it’s long and I’m very far behind…but I feel you on the OOA thing. I’ve supported OOA all along and I was surprised to see BOS coming around. It feels a little like the prodigal son story. As far as reasons to attend a second time, that’s a personal thing and can’t speak to that.

You can read through a lot of the indoctrination story here at the website. I think there is more to come so I suggest getting involved here on the forum. As for other experiences like Tension? Well it’s pretty unique. I would personally spend time getting familiar and involved with Tension. We are a very welcoming bunch and will help you with questions and so forth. But to answer your question yes there are new interactive theatre and ARGs that pop up. I think have you seen Jake is new and mysterious.

@mike But the main difference is in monopoly the rules are clearly written in a guide and you know when to roll the dice and move and what your options are to buy property or build a house…in Ascension you may think it’s time to decide to buy property but in the script you are supposed to be rolling the dice and you just don’t know.

Honestly I was really unclear about boundaries and options during the experience. I tend to be pretty compliant anyway, but I never thought I had the option not to be. I thought there would be clear “choices” but I never felt there were. I don’t know that I ever consciously made a choice during my experience except whether to tell the truth or lie when questioned by characters and the person I chose when prompted at one point…neither of which seemed to affect anything. Otherwise I just felt like I was moving through the experience with characters leading me in directions not due to anything I had done.

Did anyone else feel this way? Feel the opposite? I’d love to hear.

Also on another note: Now having done such an interactive experience I have a hard time with regular walk through haunts. On three different occasions since Ascension I have been in a walk through haunt where a character asked me “do you want to play a game?” and I’ve said yes and they just walked away from me disappointing me when they didn’t follow through with a game or even a real reaction.

So do you think the OOA is using Darren & Clint to make us believe they created this whole experience when in reality it’s a real organization using them? And regarding the “actress” in Ascension really needing help escaping the OOA’s control. Is it possible these “cries for help” are just over dramatic actresses looking for attention?

I had a crazy dream about Tension last night. Specifically about Ascension. I was going for a second time and it was very very different. After the receptionist and picture I was led directly to processing and I walked out into he hallway without saying anything to anyone because I heard loud voices and went to explore. There was a kitchen table surrounded by hillbillies (like the kind you see in a backwoods haunted house) playing poker around the corner lot by a single hanging lightbulb. I asked if they were OOA and they toasted OOA and then I asked where I could find Addison and they didn’t know and then I asked where I could find Aleister and they got all riled up and took me to a wooden ladder. I climbed the ladder up into an elaborate treehouse where a bunch of OOA (not hillbilly just wearing white) were scurrying around on what looked like a pirate ship and I kept asking for Addison but nobody knew and then I started asking for Aleister and somebody pointed out DLB so I walked over to him and said Aleister and he turned around and I stared at him angrily and he stared back and I demanded to know where Addison was. He took me into his “captains chambers” and told me how in order to find Addison I need to be a good OOA member and that the women of OOA are expected to behave with innocence and respect. This pissed me off but I “girlified” my voice and softly looked into his eyes while stroking his cheek and complimented him for about a minute and ended with asking for Addison. I was taken to her and she was fine. She was completely out of character and just talking to me as the actress. She told me what a great job I had done and that nobody had had that path yet in all the shows and was calling Darren by his real name and continued to talk to me out of character about tension all the way to the van.

It was a really weird dream.
